Apparently, it pays to take some features from civilian gear to military stuff - and this pack is a fine example of this! Ergonomically designed, easy to use, and comes with a volume of some 30 liters (1,800 in3). Just perfect for a day pack!
Black is a color you don't see too often in military surplus categories, but every now and then, we get lucky, as the British have a fondness for black stuff, whether it's clothes, combat gear, bags, or tea.

Good value for the price. Arrived in relatively clean and odour-free condition. No defects on zips or pockets that I could find. Hard to fault for the cost given that it's a lightweight pack. A thoughtful and generous soldier named Wright (according to the covered name tag with a paper insert) had left me two packets of Nescafe Azera Cappuccino instant coffee in the top flap pocket - an unexpected bonus, albeit one I'm ashamed to admit I haven't been tempted to try. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. Would have been perfect if soldier Wright had preferred ground rather than instant coffee.

Sturdy feeling, the straps feel a bit thin at the bottom but then again the build is sturdy, everything looks mint on mine!
Capacity wise, it will fit one (1) complacent large sized cat, some books and then some.
I've yet to give it a proper test, but I might get a chance to do it next time it's time to go shopping, since yours truly prefers walking.
