If you're looking for the line between a field shirt and a light jacket, this Dutch KL offering may be exactly on it.

The classic green army jacket can be worn ironically or simply because it's a functional piece of garment. This field shirt is an entirely valid jacket for warm weather and has practical features.

For some reason, the washing label says you should not wash these. We wonder why, as these are 100% cotton and seem good to go.

Made for field use

The front closure has metal snap-fasteners as do the sleeve cuffs. There are two large chest pockets with covert snap-fasteners and an inside pocket on the left. The hem has no pockets to allow wearing it in the pants or with a combat belt.

The collar is almost '70ishly wide and can be popped up to protect the neck from the wind and sun. As opposed to the current NATO form, the rank tab epaulets are on the shoulders.

Dutch Surplus

These are vintage items from the '80s and have been used, though not in heavy combat exercises. You may find rank tabs and other insignia of previous users. The manufacturers vary and include Wahler, Seyntex, Rotkopf, etc. The condition is pretty good but a definite storage smell is present.
