Description

Lightweight, high-quality EDC folder with a flat-ground plain-edge blade and black or orange FRN scales. A beautiful satin-finished VG-10 stainless steel blade and a very ergonomic handle. Made in Japan. One of the best-selling Spyderco knives! What's the other one? Read further and find out!

History

Spyderco Delica has been very popular since its introduction in 1990. Together with its larger counterpart, the Endura, they pioneered the lightweight, clip-carry, one-hand-opening folding knives and popularized fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) as a handle material. They settled as Spyderco's top two bestsellers, which isn’t a surprise, really.

During the years, Spyderco has improved ergonomics, refined the blade steel, and fine-tuned performance many times. In 2006, Delica was completely redesigned as the current Delica 4, which is nowadays available in numerous versions.

Blade

The plain-edge satin-finished blade is made from VG-10 stainless steel. It features a full flat grind for excellent slicing action and slip-resistant spine jimping. The large Spyderco thumb hole allows smooth ambidextrous one-handed opening with either hand.

Handle

This Delica 4 features an injection-molded handle from tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). The FRN scales have a high-traction Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure grip. The handle is structurally reinforced with nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners and comes with a sturdy back lock mechanism. It has screw construction for quick, simple cleaning and adjustment. Thanks to the four-position pocket clip, you can carry the knife on either side, tip-up or tip-down.

You have two options: A more discreet black-handled version and a bright orange one that is easy to spot if you drop it. If the gothic gloomin' troll must have one bright item, let it be this knife! If they don’t, they still have the black one to pick.
