Description

Detergent for all waterproof gear. Designed to revive water repellency and breathability – easy to use in the washing machine or by hand. Also suitable for synthetic sleeping bags.

With this product, you can clean your gear without compromising its water repellent properties. Recommended fabrics include Gore-Tex®, Windstopper®, and other waterproof, windproof, and fleece materials and equipment. If needed, after washing, you can apply a new DWR treatment to your garment with a suitable product. Volume 300 ml / 10.1 fl. oz.

Breathability Depends on Water Repellency

Breathable waterproof garments are most likely to become moist inside when used for an extended time in wet conditions. If the outer shell absorbs a lot of water, the garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability. Therefore, maintaining durable water repellency (DWR) in the outer fabric of the garment is essential to ensure its functionality. DWR treatments wear off over time and need to be renewed with suitable products.

Waterproof fabrics must allow moisture vapor to pass through, or breathe, otherwise, sweat cannot evaporate, leading to moisture. If the outer fabric absorbs water and becomes wet, breathability is reduced.
