A short Finnish lesson

• Aamuja: The direct translation is “mornings”, but in Finnish army slang, this word refers to how many days you have left until your military service is over and you’ll go home. Similar to “days and a wake-up” in English. This word can be uttered to new conscripts as a kind of greeting, as a reminder that they still have a long way to go.
• Mikä mies, mikä siivousalue?: Direct translation: “Who are you and which areas/premises are you charged to clean? Mighty Finland Podcast usually starts with this question to learn about your background and what you do. This also comes from the Finnish military slang.
• Kunnollista: This can be translated to “decent”or “proper”, and refers to doing things properly.
