Maintenance

This isn’t a punch bowl or beer bong. Only put max. 60°C (140°F) water in these sacks. Don’t store moonshine or other alcoholic, sweet, or acidic liquids in these. Change the drinking water regularly and don’t expose it too long to the sun. Clean inside with denture cleaning tablets and outside with warm water, brush, and neutral soap. Clean the valve regularly. Store dry and open.

Features

The food-grade coating on the inside ensures that you can safely drink water from these. The bag can be fixed to the backpack, and it is made from tear-resistant fabric. The 4- and 10-liter versions can also be easily fixed to branches or vehicles thanks to the two buckled handles.

  • Standard 63 mm wide-mouth cap, compatible with e.g. Nalgene)
  • Drinking valve with a dust protection cap
  • Flow adjusting valve
  • Easy cleaning and fast drying due to the large 52 mm opening

Use

The cap is the same 63 mm wide-mouth size as e.g. on Nalgene bottles. So, anything that goes on Nalgene, goes on this, too.

Therefore, you can combine these with e.g. the Katadyn Vario microfilter. Or turn the bag into a water reservoir with the Source or Ortlieb drinking tube.

They also have other uses besides storing drinking water such as a camping shower (Ortlieb sells a separate accessory for this), seat or head pillow, sandbag, and buoyancy means for diving.
