An exceptionally good 1,250 lm rifle light with a remote switch and direct tailcap. With a maximum output of 100,000 candela, you can easily identify targets from close range out to 300+ meters. This means more light on target, better situational awareness, and maximum penetration of photonic barriers such as smoke, fog, tint, and other light sources. Long beam pattern

This weapon light has a narrow, brighter beam in the center, extending the effective range and providing a useful reach for rifles. Furthermore, it creates a wider, fainter beam around the center beam, which is beneficial for observing and exploring a larger area.

Lumens (lm) indicate the total amount of visible light emitted by a light source. This value is fully comparable only when the beams of two products are similar. Since you normally compare fairly similar products, lumens are usually roughly comparable – but not always.

Candela (cd) is the unit of luminous intensity. The principle is quite simple: when the beam becomes narrower, the light is reflected onto a smaller area; brighter light and a longer beam. The most light to the target is achieved by putting many lumens/candelas on a narrow beam.

Durable and field-serviceable construction

Engineered to be shockproof, dustproof, and built to last. These lights have been severely abused in tests, probably to the point where the rifle handguard or frame breaks before the light does. At least, no other battery-powered device you carry is likely to beat this in impact resistance and waterproofing.

The light uses a modular 3-pc design made from Type III Hard Coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, and it is completely serviceable in the field. The strongest-in-class lens is made from 3 mm-thick glass and can withstand multiple shots from 5.56 Simunition rounds at close range. The REIN is IPX-8 rated for water resistance and can be fully submerged for up to 24 hours at 30 m (100 feet). Every REIN light is made in the USA.

The 13 cm (5") remote switch cable stays out of the way, but it's also made "too durable" just to be safe. And it can be replaced.

Switches

The tailcap and logo button are traditional: momentary illumination with a slight press and constant-on with a press to the click. A strobe function is not included; use another light at rave parties.

Regarding the remote switches, Cloud Defensive moved to the Single Button as the standard option to save rail space, while keeping the Dual Button as the "pro" choice for maximum control. The main difference comes down to how you prefer to manage Momentary vs. Constant-On activation. 

Single Button Remote (standard version)

This is designed to be as small as possible, which is ideal if you have limited rail space or many other attachments. A full click activates the constant-on light. When the light is on, pressing the button down slightly will turn it off until you let go. When the light is off, you can technically get momentary-on by pressing slightly and holding, but it’s very easy to accidentally "click" it into constant-on if you press too hard in a high-stress situation.

Dual Button Remote (Tactical Upgrade)

This has two physically separate buttons with distinct functions. It was the standard for the REIN 1.0 and 2.0 and is still preferred by many professionals because it eliminates human error. The downside is that it takes up about twice the rail space of the single button.
The button with the small square is momentary-only. No matter how hard you smash it, it will never click into constant-on. This is vital for "flash and move" tactics, where you don't want to accidentally leave a light on and give away your position. The button with a large X is constant-on. It clicks on and off like a traditional switch.

Snag-free cable routing

Integrated cable management ensures snag-free cable routing. The cable exits from the bottom of the remote switch through a Picatinny slot and can be routed straight to either side or inside the switch mount to any of the four corners. From any corner, the cable can be routed once more through a Picatinny slot (under the mounting screw tab) to the opposite side. This allows you to mount the switch either way, have your cable exit where you prefer, and minimize excess cable length.

At the tailcap, the cable exits from the side and can be oriented in any direction by selecting one of the four slots and fine-tuning with the tailcap. This kills two birds with one stone: the cable is out of the way, and you get to have a traditional tailcap switch as well. 

The switches are also stronger in design and electrically isolated from the push-button tailcap. This means that if there's ever a failure in the remote switch itself, the tailcap can serve as a backup. The tailcap cartridge is readily replaceable and facilitates "clocking," enabling you to reduce cable visibility without detaching the light's tail. By utilizing the REIN switches, you are no longer limited by the power loss found in other tape switch designs.

Power

Dual-Fuel compatibility means your REIN 3.0 can use both 18650 batteries and CR123As. However, the performance with CR123A batteries is not as good. It will also accept all protected and unprotected 18650 batteries, both button-top and flat-top batteries. Fully tested to ANSI/PLATO-FL1 standards. Note that you need to purchase batteries and the charger separately.

The battery compartment has a screw-in "Battery Jack" sleeve for different length power sources. It secures the battery in place and prevents "battery bounce". This not only extends the lifespan and reliability of your system but also eliminates flicker under recoil that many other lights exhibit. 

Compatibility

Every REIN 3.0 ships with a Torrent M-LOK Inline mount designed to work with a wide variety of M-LOK-compatible rails. If a different mounting solution is required, all REINs are fully compatible with existing Scout-style mounts.
