Description

If you drive for a living or consider yourself a responsible motorist, you should have a strap cutter within arm's reach at all times. You will avoid harm's way, of course, but people who spend a lot of time on the road are likely to be first responders when others are in trouble.

Pro Tip: Warehouse workers find this a handy and safe tool for cutting straps off cargo pallets and wholesale boxes. Also recommended to kite surfers.

Cutter and sheath

The Gerber cutter is made from a single piece of 3 mm steel with a rubber-coated handle. It's fairly light and tiny, and a large cut-out serves as a finger-hole to keep the tool in control even with gloves on. The pommel has a lanyard hole and a glass breaker tip - which is often necessary in the same situations where you'd cut a seatbelt.

The sheath has a MALICE clip for attaching to MOLLE/PALS webbing or just a belt (up to 50 mm / 2" wide). In the modern world of micro-aggressions, it's nice to notice that it's symmetrical to serve southpaws as well.

Also supplied is something Gerber calls a "belt clip", but it seems to work best with regular 25 mm (1") webbing.

Overall length: 103 mm (4")
