Here’s a robust duty belt with a bomb-proof Cobra buckle. Especially good inside the Särmä TST Battle Belt or something similar but also works on its own and as a pretty unique EDW belt. Clicking the buckle shut feels like closing a vault, that's how secure these are.
The webbing of this belt is Class 7a according to MIL-W-4088 and has a breaking load of 2,700 kg (roughly 6,000 lb). The webbing is double-laid and treated with resin to make it reasonably stiff without feeling like a steel band around your waist. This means that it works really nicely as a duty belt and you can easily hang a sidearm from it too.
Despite having a specified high breaking load, this belt is not made for climbing or high work safety. If you do something this stupid, your possible funeral expenses are on your loved ones.
These duty belts are manufactured by the German MD-textil, which is a family-owned business dedicated to tactical and technical gear. They make gear e.g. for the special dudes of the German army and border guard. They utilize state-of-the-art machines, which are almost as precise as German workers themselves.
To deliver only the best quality and maintain sustainable production, they work in close co-operation with special forces and do not source basic materials from low-wage countries. The fabrics and sewing thread are made in Germany. The Velcro is made in Spain, and the Cobra buckles are made in Austria.
