Back when everything was black and white, armies used aluminum bottles to carry water. These are Swedish surplus, some probably even made during the Second World War. With a volume of about 0.65 l (22 fl oz), you better have an extra bottle or a water supply nearby. Attaches to your kit with the clip-on hook/belt loop thingie. When you want to drink, detach the whole thing by opening the clip.
The bottle isn't meant to be taken out of its cover and serves three purposes:

Old, used aluminium water bottles. Needless to say, these might require diligent cleaning before use. They will have some nasty odours by default. We'd be tempted not to sell these for actual drinking purposes and wash our hands entirely of any consequences that might arise.
