I'll start off by saying that I'm a very big fan of Salomon shoes and boots, and have been wearing them on a daily rotation since 2013. Generally they make comfortable and brilliant shoes. Unfortunately this version is not quite up to the same quality as their forces boots. I purchased these mid-boots in March 2021. The soles feel very thin, there's not as much cushioning as I had hoped. Within 6 months, the tread on the heel section has worn down and through, and also began to come apart. Maybe I'll see about a warranty claim? I hoped these shoes would be my daily driver, but unfortunately they are not as hard wearing as their purpose implies. Maybe they get replaced every 3 to 6 months in the military? If that's the case, poor civilians... get the full boots instead.
