Product description

Beautiful large natural white British army blankets. Perfect for old-time hunters and bushcrafters. You can also use these at the summer cottage or make something cool out of them, such as a beadroll or capote. This color isn’t that common anymore and this is a small batch, so act fast.

Features

These are either 100% wool or close to that with a little bit of acrylic thrown in. They breathe well and keep you warm even when wet. The sizes vary to some extent. Some are c. 210 x 160 cm (82.5” x 63”) and others 200 x 150 cm (78.5” x 59”).

These come in a really cool color that unfortunately is quite rare these days, a soothing off-white. The color can vary a bit from more white to more creamy because there are blankets from different batches here. Some have thin blue stripes to make folding easier.

Use

Blankets were used by all armies in the old times, nowadays they are unfortunately replaced by sleeping bags. Sure sleeping bags are warmer but not nearly as cool as blankets. These cost a big penny when new. The milsurp ones are a lot cheaper but unfortunately they are becoming quite rare, especially these thick n’ proper ones.

When soaked through, the blanket is pretty shitty to carry. However, it dries faster than a sleeping bag and is also usually easier to keep clean. You can carry stuff in it and use it as a poncho during nightly guard duty, for example. Of course, it is also usable as a horse’s blanket.

You can also use these to make something neat, e.g. a capote, which is the blanket coat used by mountain men and other proper bushcraft guys. This color is quite perfect for those for its snow camo effect.

Condition

Used British military surplus. The condition of these varies. Some appear very nicely used but some have some stains and other signs of use. Not perhaps ideal for decorating those cold fancy-ass homes but perfect for proper use. They are all intact.
