Product description

Cut quickly and reliably through seat belts and other straps, and even leather boots in an emergency situation with this mil-spec strap cutter. The large rubber-coated handle works well with gloved hands and gives you a very good grip. Each tool comes in a MOLLE/PALS pouch. Made in the USA.

Features

This is a very compact strap cutter that is easy to keep with you wherever you may roam. The single-piece steel handle has a rubber-dipped coating. Minimal cladding ensures a slim profile and reduced weight for ease of carry and concealability. Rubber dipping also provides a sure grip. Overall length 108 mm (4.25").

The cutting edge is inset in a hook shape and sharpened on one side only. The blade is made from BDZ1 stainless steel (58-60HRC), which is a highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel commonly used in razor blades and other applications requiring an ultra-fine edge.

This fixed-blade strap cutter comes with a green pouch that has three rows of PALS webbing. Some of these feature the previous owner's, Malice clip, others don't.

Condition

Used military surplus. We weren’t given more details this time but would wager a guess that these are US military strap cutters. Some have seen more use, and some none. In most cases, "use" refers to the fact that these have been carried around, so it has primarily affected the pouch. There might be some dust or dirt on the pouches or other signs of use, but these tools are all still perfectly serviceable.

Blade like new. Case minimally used. There is an additional strap for fastening. :-)

Case had no attachment thingie and the elastic band at the top is completely worn out, but the case is not torn and the PALS webbing is in good shape. The cutter itself is definitely used but in good condition and sharp. Rubber coating is still grippy. Loop is pretty large and works well with gloves on. Similar in size to the Gerber. If you want an inexpensive and compact strap cutter, this is a good choice.
