This article series by Varusteleka is part of the global Fashion Revolution Week, a campaign that aims at making the sourcing, manufacture, and sales of clothes more ethical and transparent. We believe that this is a damn good thing and thus we were very happy to participate in it for the third time now in 2022.
During this campaign week, we continue the series that introduces our partners and their fantastic gang who makes your clothes and accessories. In this twelfth part, you will meet Finn-Savotta Oy from Finland.
Savotta is an established Finnish company, whose classic products can naturally be found on our shelves. In addition, they are also one of our Särmä TST gear manufacturers, with whom we have worked for quite a while, since 2015.
Savotta has factories in Karstula, Finland and Tartu, Estonia that the manufacturing is split between. For us, Savotta makes for example pouches and backpacks.
Product designer Merkku has been working for Savotta for three years.
The work includes things like sewing prototypes and creating patterns for products.
Emilia has worked for Savotta in the sewing department for a year.
The daily work consists of all kinds of sewing on various products.
