Leatherman Ratchet Driver

Driving long screws in with a fixed screwdriver gets old fast. Even more so if the grip is not ergonomic like in dedicated screwdrivers but a boxy multi-tool off the center axis of the screw. Well, here's the fix: an inline 1/4" Ratchet Driver from Leatherman.

The Ratchet Driver is very universal: Both ends are compatible with standard 1/4" hex bits and drivers as well as the Leatherman flat bits and Bit Drivers as found on certain models. The driver is deep enough for two-sided bits and has a magnet to hold the bit in place.

Turning screws in tight spaces is easy thanks to the fairly fine 45 clicks per turn which means backing out the tool just 8 degrees gets you to the next click.

The internal mechanism has durable steel components for a long service life but do note that the maximum amount of torque you can put through this thing is limited. This prevents breaking the expensive multi-tool behind the driver. There's no need to be delicate about the Ratchet Driver, just don't ham-fist it with white knuckles and bulging veins.
