Technical details and instructions

NIR-Compliant Materials

Weight: 225 g/m2(6.64 oz/yd2), 50% cotton, 50% polyamide, ripstop.

The fabric is NIR-compliant. If you want to preserve the NIR properties of the garment made from this fabric, we recommend careful washing – the most important thing is to avoid detergents containing optical brighteners. These leave residues in washing machines, so hand washing is a good solution.

This fabric is from Unifeq, Poland. As with most fabrics nowadays, the materials are originally from China.

M04 Desert Pattern

This pattern is ideal for desert environments worldwide, but it also works perfectly on Finnish shooting ranges and other sandy pits elsewhere.

A Brief History Of Sand

In the early 2000s, the Finnish Defence Forces began developing new military uniform and camouflage patterns. Participation in the UN peacekeeping operation on the Eritrean and Ethiopian border, which started in 2000, first created the need for a dedicated desert camouflage pattern. The pattern, initially named K2004 during its prototype phase, was adopted by Finnish forces in 2003, along with a new uniform model. Early models were made from heavier fabric, but eventually, the M04 hot-weather uniform became standardized, made from lightweight ripstop fabric. The pattern was officially named M04.
