TYR Tactical PICO Assaulter’s Plate Carrier utilizes their extremely lightweight PV® material in key areas, which has 7–10 times the abrasion resistance of normal 500D Cordura. It was engineered for both long-term load carry and as a low-profile plate carrier armor system.

Due to export restrictions, the plate carriers with ballistic shoulder pads cannot be shipped outside of Finland.

Features

This is the well-known plate carrier from TYR Tactical – in use by various regular troops and special forces worldwide since 2010. However, the world of surplus is full of surprises – we got a pile of these plate carriers and then noticed that they are not quite identical to each other. Below are the common features as well as the version details.

  • Removable MOLLE kangaroo front pouch with an insert for three AR-15/M4 5.56 magazines
  • Two large cummerbund flaps for 6" x 6" side plates
  • Two small cummerbund flaps
  • PALS webbing for MOLLE attachment
  • Hydration/communication tabs for routing
  • Roomy plate bags easily take most standard-issue and SOF specialty plates
  • Antimicrobial/FR-treated padded spacer mesh system
  • Reinforced drag handle
  • Made in the USA

Version Features

Basic

  • This has basic shoulder pads and a non-removable MOLLE back panel
  • Back panel takes a mid-sized hydration bladder (2L or so)

w/ Zip-on

  • Same as basic but with a zippered MOLLE back panel
  • Back panel takes a larger hydration bladder (3L wide model or such)

w/ Ballistic shoulder pads

  • Same as basic but with soft armor shoulder pads
  • Only available in Finland due to export restrictions

w/ Zip-on & Ballistic shoulder pads

  • Same as w/ Zip-on but with soft armor shoulder pads

Condition

Made in the USA, these are used surplus items discarded by the armed forces of a NATO country. The plate carriers show heavy use, but due to their high quality, they are still intact and functional.
