This hardshell rain jacket is designed for US troops operating in the badlands under heavy rain, wind, and other hostile elements. It’s constructed from a lightweight Gore-Tex laminate that provides breathable, waterproof protection. This jacket is fully seam-sealed and windproof. It does swish and swoosh when you move, so it’s not ideal for sneaking upon your enemies, but it isn’t really made for that either.
The jacket has an adjustable, helmet-compatible hood, handy pockets, 2-way side zippers for ventilation and easy layering, and a low-profile waistband cinch. Hook-and-loop wrist adjustments keep the evil rain and wind from creeping in. The design is lightweight and packable; packed size is just c. 10 x 22 cm (Medium Long).
Axios Layering System
This jacket is part of Beyond’s earlier Axios layering system, where A6 is the Axios Layer 6, Rain Protection. Later, Beyond switched to an L-system, and this garment falls into the L6 slot. However, the current L6 Hardshell Jacket differs somewhat from this older version.
Condition
Unused American military surplus still in plastic wrapping. Before you turn on Caps Lock and type "why does surplus cost this much," note that nobody has used these, and on the shelf, they cost several times more. They were made for the US military, which has no shortage of money.
