Pitching a tent

Putting one up is very straightforward:

  • Spread the tent on the ground and peg the corners.
  • Erect one of the poles and peg it down. Do the same for the other one and tighten the cords.
  • Now just do the same for the four corners and you're done.

For a bigger tent it's probably wise to zip them together first.

Generally this is like a short ridge tent. It comprises a strong canvas upper, an even stronger rubberized bottom, two poles, some guy ropes, and a bunch of pegs.

What makes this a neat "little" item is its modular design: you can either use it as a glorious one-man tent or zip a few together to make a big tent with such luxury features as internal divider walls and room to actually do something inside. Also no need to drag a groundsheet with you, as one is permanently attached to the tent.

Dutch army surplus

Used but repaired where necessary. It's entirely possible a cord or something might be missing but nothing major. The poles and pegs might not be original Dutch, but good robust stuff anyway.
