Technical details and instructions

Materials

The main material is ripstop reinforced 100% polyamide, DWR treated and PU coated. NIR compliant camouflage print. Waterproof atl least up to 10000 mm. The reinforcements in the corners and other tie-down points are 500D Foxdura. The tie-down points are made from strong webbing. The center seam and central tie-down reinforcement stitches are waterproof taped.

The Varusteleka Tarp follows the basic tarp design rules but is made to meet Finnish military end-user requirements, including NIR-compliant M05 camouflage print. Available in two sizes, larger for 2-3 persons and smaller for 1-2 persons.

  • Dimensions: 250 x 250 cm / (98.5" x 98.5") and 290 x 290 cm / (114" x 114")
  • Weight: 810 g / 28.6 oz. and 1150 g / 40.6 oz.
  • Nine / seventeen tie-down points w/ webbing loops
  • Tie-down points reinforced with 500D Foxdura
  • Waterproof taped center seam
  • Sewed with polyester continuous filament Serafil WRe (PFC-free water-repellent treatment)
  • Material 100% Polyamide w/ PU coating, waterproof at least up to 10000 mm
  • NIR compliant camouflage print

The larger size, 290 x 290 cm / (114" x 114"), is designed to fit up to three persons sleeping under it, or two persons + gear if your kit is made from sugar. The smaller size, 250 x 250 cm / (98.5" x 98.5"), is designed to accommodate a single or two persons, although it is only 40 cm / 15.5" shorter and narrower it weighs 25 % less, making it that little bit easier to pack and carry.

These tarps are as-is, no sack or bag is included. However, both of the sizes fit nicely in a 5 liter Varusteleka dry bag (300 cubic inches).
