Here’s a pair of very impressive winter gloves. When you look at all the features, the price isn't likely to give you hives either. Waterproof, warm, and, thanks to the leather reinforcements, also durable. Furthermore, the long cuff keeps the elemental evils nicely outside.
These are part of the ECWCS system (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) developed in the USA. It is a very versatile layered clothing system made for very harsh conditions where it is wet and cold, dry and bloody cold, and otherwise thoroughly unpleasant.
The warm insulation prevents finger amputations quite well. The warm liner is NOT removable and these DON't come with any liner gloves. Note that fingered winter gloves are always a compromise when it comes to warmth. If you just plan on standing still in the frozen darkness, thick mittens are the ideal choice. However, if you also need to do something with your fingers, this is a very good option. And super warm for being fingered.
These gloves have a waterproof membrane, but since there are no GTX logos, it probably is some other version. We cannot say anything about the condition of the membrane because it is impossible to inspect. However, since many of these are unissued, it cannot be that bad.
The outer fabric is made from wear-resistant polyamide, and the palm side up until the fingertip is made from goatskin, which improves durability even further. The combo is very practical for military use and other high-intensity activities.
The long cuff can be adjusted at two points for a snug fit and to keep the cold and snow outside.
Made for demanding military use, but these are also fantastic for hunting, hiking, skiing, and for cold and gloomy city streets. The soothing green color is very versatile and well-suited for various environments.
Dutch military surplus. A large part of these are unused, but they have been lying in the warehouse for quite some time. Others have seen some use, so they might have small scratches and minor stains. All of them are still perfectly serviceable, and most are in very good condition.
