Finnish Brutality: For Participants

Ticket sales for the next Finnish Brutality (August 15–16, 2026) will take place during spring 2026. The ticket sale schedule will be announced on our social media channels @varusteleka and on this page, so stay tuned!

NOTE: There is a high chance of this year's main match being live streamed – therefore there is also a high chance of you being in the stream.

Safety First!

In order to participate, you must meet the minimum requirements by having either a Finnish SRA card or Finnish IPSC safe shooter status – OR a non-DQ result in three practical shooting matches (USPSA, IPSC, IDPA, Brutality, Tactical Games, Moons Out, Goons Out, Zombie Invitational, etc.) listed on Practiscore, SSI, or similar platforms (these will be checked during registration).

Participants are required to have a suitable insurance policy covering shooting events. The organizing party does not insure participants.

Divisions

Irons

  1. Rifles and handguns with iron sights only.
  2. Rifle magazines may not exceed 30 rounds.
  3. Pistol magazines may not exceed 17 rounds.
  4. Gear configuration may not change throughout the event.

You, everything you’re wearing, and your gear must remain unchanged throughout all stages. Example: if you wear knee pads on one stage, you must wear knee pads on all stages. Exceptions: snacks, repair parts, water, and ammunition.

Open

No restrictions on gear or equipment as long as they are safe for competition and adhere to general match rules. We have to comply with Finnish law and Loppi shooting range regulations, so no explosive/incendiary/AP ammo, full-automatic fire, or other such cowboy sh*t.

Armored (SRA TST)

No restrictions on gear, weapons, or equipment, as long as all of it is retained throughout the entire match. Gear must be carried or worn while on stage and may only be removed when the shooter is not on the stage. All mandatory gear must be carried or worn during the stage. It is forbidden to drop mandatory gear during a stage to reduce carried weight. (Note: During a quick magazine change, dropping magazines is allowed.)

Mandatory gear must be accessible with one hand. (For example, the three mandatory rifle magazines must be accessible with one hand, but any additional rifle magazines may be carried in a backpack.)

Stage staff monitor Armored division shooters’ gear and may inspect or weigh it if they believe the total weight is below the 12 kg minimum. If an inspection finds that the gear does not meet the requirements, the shooter will be removed from the Armored division. The same principle applies if an Irons division shooter uses an Open division rifle on a stage – the shooter is automatically transferred to the Open division.

Equipment required during stages for Armored Division (SRA TST) shooters. All listed items must be carried when the stage starts (the stage briefing may specify that certain mandatory items are not required for that particular stage):

  1. Pistol used in the competition, carried in the shooter’s competition holster. If the pistol is not needed on a stage, an empty magazine may be inserted with the range officer’s permission.
  2. At least 90 rounds of rifle ammunition in a minimum of three 30-round magazines. Exception: rifles using “long” cartridges (e.g. 7.62×51), where 20-round magazines are sufficient.
  3. At least 30 rounds of pistol ammunition in a minimum of two magazines.
  4. At least 1 liter of water. (The shooter may drink the water during the match but must ensure that at least 1 liter is carried while on stage.)
  5. Knife or multitool. (Blade length must be at least 90 mm.)
  6. Flashlight.
  7. Gloves. (Color must be discreet and suitable for military service.)
  8. Sling (must be carried; does not need to be attached).
  9. First aid kit. (Must include at least a CAT / other tourniquet.)
  10. Plate carrier or chest rig.
  11. Long-sleeved shirt and full-length pants. Clothing color must be discreet and suitable for military service.
  12. Military-grade boots with discreet color, suitable for military service. Boots must support the ankle and cover the malleolus.
  13. Total carried gear weight must be at least 12 kg.

Gear included in the weight check (rifle, clothing, and footwear are not included):

  1. Pistol carried by the shooter.
  2. Plate carrier or chest rig.
  3. Battle belt or belt.
  4. Helmet. (All helmet-mounted accessories count toward the weight. Hearing protection and eye protection are not counted if no helmet is used.)
  5. All protective vests.
  6. All mandatory gear carried during the stage.
  7. All gear carried on stage in pouches, pockets, etc. (magazines, ammunition, etc.).
  8. Knee and elbow pads.

Category: Breacher

  1. Contestants will perform a physical task after each stage.
  2. All Breachers are in the Armored (SRA TST) division.
  3. Your Breacher task scores will not affect your Armored division score. Your Armored division score will however affect your Breacher category standing.
  4. Breacher equipment rules are identical to Armored (SRA TST) division rules.
  5. The Breacher category is limited to 60 contestants. If more than 60 contestants apply, participants will be selected randomly. Confirmation will be issued after all tickets are sold.

Category: Cosplay

  1. The best outfit will be rewarded. The outfit must be safe and comply with division rules. A secret conclave will judge the winner.
