Varusteleka and Kelluu joined forces to improve European defense

What happens when you combine the world's most advanced airship technology with the best military clothing? This awesome collab, of course! Varusteleka and tech pioneer Kelluu have officially joined forces to improve European defense. We outfit Kelluu's ground crews with our high-performance clothing system, enabling them to operate in the harshest conditions.

The future of European defense requires agility, cutting-edge innovation, and gear that never fails. Kelluu is the first Finnish company ever to be funded by the NATO Innovation Fund and was the only Finnish company selected for the second phase of NATO’s prestigious DIANA innovation accelerator program. Their 11-meter autonomous airships can operate in Arctic conditions and GNSS-denied environments, providing vital 3D situational awareness for European defense. They provide more accurate data than satellites and can operate much longer than drones.

While the airships fly autonomously, the ground crew operates in harsh, unpredictable conditions across the Arctic and beyond. Plenty of brands promise weather resistance, but Kelluu chose Varusteleka because our gear is genuinely built to endure whatever nature throws at you.

What drives us? A shared commitment to strengthening European defense through domestic excellence.

💬 "We have a track record of outfitting several Finnish defense companies with durable clothing designed for harsh conditions. From the security of supply and capability development perspective, close collaboration with domestic operators makes perfect sense", says Jari Ikäheimonen, CMO of Varusteleka.

💬 "Continuous presence at NATO and member state events demands a lot from our gear. Our ground crew is the direct calling card for the company, so the gear needs to look sharp and endure long stints from the Arctic to the Mediterranean", comments Aleksi Sahlberg, Head of Operations of Kelluu.
